"The Silverdale Chamber of Commerce is the leader in creating a vibrant economic base supporting a quality community."
These words embody the mission statement of the Chamber; they are only words until a group of people comes together to give rise to the body of work and energy that sets Silverdale apart as unique. The Chamber is active in a myriad of venues in the community and is as vital as its membership and as strong as its leadership. It is a symbiotic relationship; without one the other can not exist.
According to the bylaws of the Silverdale Chamber of Commerce, "Patron Membership enables persons interested in providing additional support, the opportunity to do so.". That's all. This brief description of the patron program begs the question, what is additional support, and why in the world would anyone offer it?
The most obvious example of additional support would be the money patrons contribute above their normal annual dues. Frankly, the additional income from our patrons is very important to our small, non-profit organization. They help us provide first class programs and services while maintaining an affordable general membership dues structure. But, additional support is much more than just money.
When the Chamber lists the patron members in the Currents newsletter and introduces them at meetings and social events, it isn't just a thank you. Patrons are allowing us to use their good names in public, which is an endorsement of our mission to strive to be the leader in creating a vibrant economic base supporting a quality community that offers good jobs, a clean environment, and a desirable place to live.
The chamber is proud to let the world know we have the support of these exceptional community leaders. They say, "You are defined by the company you keep", and we are fortunate to be in the company of these fine individuals.
The Chamber would like to acknowledge those members who take that extra step in supporting the Chamber, its membership and the Silverdale Community by being Patron Members.
